I grew up in the northern Slovakia mountains, hiking and being outside in nature. In 1994 I got my first dog, a German Shepard who was my hiking friend, but to travel farther I needed more dogs!
This gave my father the idea to get a few Siberian huskies and this was my start to dog sledding. I started doing sprint races and eventually had a small kennel on my own. Day by day, years by years running dogs become more of a passion then a hobby, and one day an offer to guide in Norway came along and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. 2013 found me travelling to Lapland, in northern Norway and guiding sled dog tours across the Finnmark plateau. After 4 years in Lapland, I kept travelling north to Svalbard in May 2017 to find some chillier wind!
At Greendog I am also partly responsible for the race team and have placed 1st and 2nd at the local races, it was a sweet feeling to cross the finish line once again. I have dreams of one day crossing under the burled arch in Nome Alaska, after finishing the Iditarod, so please keep your fingers crossed for me!
