Born of parents with years of Greenland experience, Karina moved to Greenland at the age of 15. Spent 14 years on the East Coast of Greenland – primarily in the small, isolated community of Ittoqqortoormiit, one of the last fishing communities in the world. For several years she worked as a cook at the small desert station Constable Pynt, with a staff of just 10 people.
It then led to chef jobs in the world’s largest national park, the National Park North and Northeast Greenland, where she among other things. worked at the small research station Zackenberg at 74 ° N.
Karina and her husband Martin, in collaboration with local catchers, established the tourism company “Nanu Travel” in Ittoqqortoormiit, which in 2007 received the Greenland Bank’s entrepreneurship award. Karina is an avid leisure hunter and has participated in numerous hunting trips, boat and sledge expeditions.
Moved in Svalbard in autumn 2011 and established Green Dog Svalbard with Martin and Spitsbergen Travel. Karina is the mother of Styrk, Saga, Storm & Freja and works primarily with communication and marketing of Green Dog Svalbard.
