Freja Bernlow

Freja, born 2007. Freja spend her first 4 years in Ittoqqortoormiit, East Greenland and spoke fluent Eastgreenlandic when she arrived at Svalbard. Today she speaks fluent Danish, Norwegian and English. Freja joined her first dog sledge trip when she was 6 months old and at the age of 5, she started mushing herself. When she was 3 months old, she spotted her first polar bear and as the old hunting traditions in Ittoqqortoormiit says, she also got the fur to keep. From the age of 2, she started joining her parents in seal hunts at the frozen sea ice and later on, she has joined shark fishing, ptarmigan hunting and reindeer hunting. Freja literally grew up with sled dogs and loves huskies very much! She likes showing her puppies to visitors in the Green Dog Kennel.
