Hi, my name is Jasmijn, and I grew up in the Netherlands. I have always felt a longing for adventure, and after finishing high school, I decided to work at a husky farm in Finnish Lapland. I completed two winter seasons there as a dog handler and guide, and I also took part in a race. The snow, the endless enthusiasm and love from the dogs, and the people with a similar mindset all made this place, surrounded by rugged and wild nature, feel like home.
This experience led me to study tourism, with a minor in Northern Norway, where I found a job at another husky kennel. There, I gained more experience with dogs, guests, and the dark Arctic winter.
After that came a period of different adventures, but I never forgot my time in the north or my love for it. Svalbard seemed like the ultimate adventure to me, so working with dogs and guests again, now in a place with extreme conditions, would be the perfect next step.
I look forward to welcoming you on one of our tours as your guide!
