Hi, my name is Jasmijn and I grew up in The Netherlands. I’ve always felt a longing for adventure and after high-school I decided to work on a husky farm in Finnish Lapland. I completed two winter seasons there as a handler and guide, and participated in a race. The snow, the endless enthusiasm and love from the dogs, the people with similar mindsets, it all made this place among rough and wild nature feel like home.
Denne opplevelsen førte meg til beslutningen om å studere turisme, med et bifag i Nord-Norge, hvor jeg fant en jobb i en annen huskykennel. Her fikk jeg mer erfaring med hunder, gjester og mørket.
Then a period of different adventures followed, but I had never forgotten my time in and love for the north. Svalbard appeared like the ultimate adventure for me, so it would be the great next step to work with dogs and guests again, now in a place with extreme conditions.
