Hi, my name is Jakub, and I’m from Poland.
When I was 20, I decided to leave university and hitchhike to Norway, where I started working with huskies as a volunteer. What was meant to be just a one-year adventure soon turned into a deep fascination with the world of sled dogs.
Over the years, I’ve worked in several tourist and racing kennels across Norway and Sweden, helping to train dogs for races such as Femundløpet and Finnmarksløpet. Along the way, I’ve met many incredible people, gained a lot of valuable experience, and immersed myself in the rich sled dog culture of Scandinavia. I even had the chance to try my hand at sled dog racing myself.
After spending a few years working as a carpenter, I’m now returning to my true passion — working with dogs — as a dog handler at Green Dog on Svalbard, together with my loyal four leg companion, Rusty.
I look forward to meeting you on one of our tours!
