Hi! My name is Filippa and I come from Sweden. Ever since I was a kid I knew working with animals was what I wanted. As soon as I could choose direction in school, I started focusing on animal studies.
During the summers I worked at a moose park not far from where I was born, and my interest in animals grew further. I got fascinated by animal behaviour and took a bachelor in ethology and animal welfare.
At the end of my bachelor’s degree, I took some Arctic biology courses here on Svalbard at the University Centre in Svalbard. What was supposed to be 5 months has now turned into almost 2 years, and I still love it.
I like how the adventure is just around the corner, how small you feel surrounded by the mountains and the rawness of the nature. Working with dogs gives this place a new meaning when you see how much they love this place and how much they love sledding.
