Marie Røen

Hello! My name is Marie, and I come from Norway. I have always had a great love for nature, animals, and outdoor life, and I feel most at home when I am spending time outdoors.

Throughout my upbringing, I spent a lot of time working with horses, which has given me valuable experience and a strong sense of responsibility. I enjoy challenging myself and trying new things, and this has taken me to many exciting places. Among other experiences, I spent a year on a cattle station in Australia, where I had the opportunity to experience a completely different lifestyle and work culture.

It is often the small moments in nature that mean the most to me – the silence, the light, animal tracks in the snow, or a chance encounter with wildlife. I also find something truly special in dogs’ ability to show so much joy, love, and enthusiasm over even the smallest things.

I greatly appreciate the feeling of being surrounded by raw and untouched nature, where you truly realize how small you are. That is exactly why Svalbard feels like such a special place to be, and I am incredibly grateful to be part of the Green Dog team.
