Lea Iversen

I was born in Denmark and grew up in the western parts of Jutland. I came to Svalbard for the first time in 1998 and a 3 months summer job has soon become 15 years at Svalbard. I will never stop being fascinated by the nature and the light in the high North. Sometimes I still wonder how lucky I am to experience and be part of this amazing landscape. I have mostly worked in hotel and tourism, apart from a period as fair girl in Svea. For 5 years, I was an environmental worker at a youth home in Finnskogen, where the youngsters as part of the living, took care of 40 huskies.

After being introduced to the husky in Norway, in the early 90’s , huskies and the outdoor life has become a big passion of mine and today I have my own husky: Molly (3 yrs).

At Green Dog, I am very all round – amongst others, I take care of group bookings, guide welfare, HSE, I fix dog harnesses and give talks to cruise visitors in summertime.
